HEALTHY DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE THROUGH SPORT
Specific objectives: · To encourage the involvement of public bodies at regional or local level from 8 different partner cities active in the youth sector in European youth and non-formal education activities; · To support their capacity building as bodies active in the youth field providing non-formal education opportunities to young people and youth workers; · To promote healthy behaviours, social inclusion and active participation of young people through the promotion of the practice of grassroots sport and outdoor activities. · To develop a European Sports network, by signing of a sport agreement during the final meeting and dissemination of findings and promotion of results on social networks. Within the framework of the programme we intend to use extisting local facilities to encounter the needs of local communities and to provide young people with multipurpose sites for various ball sports and social networking diffusion of sport considered both as a tool and an indicator. The municipalities involved in the project can determine the most appropriate sites and type of facilities to be used. The delivery of training and educational programmes for transmitting of values and life skills related to the prevention of violence through ball sport and the promotion of intercultural dialogue , will be done through the involvement of testimonials (one per each partner chosen among ball sports).
Step 1 –Recruitment of the work group:
Specific objective: Opening Meeting in Bulgaria; making of the work group in each partner city and individuation of the local facilities. This project seeks to create 8 “Intercultural Youth Sport Groups” (IYSG) in each partner’s location. The aim of these pannels would be to discuss the potentials and difficulties of belonging to a culturally diverse community by using Sport. These groups would have to promote awareness-raising about effective ways of promoting sport at municipal level.
Step 2 – Raising awareness campaigns and information: Specific objectives: 1. Present the findings and provide advice on sport’s advantages despite potentially harmful street situations ; 2. Present the effectiveness and adequacy of promoting sport at local level to help prevent young people from being exposed to such risks; 3. Suggest ways to help parents, teachers, local stakeholders and decision makers to understand and manage these risks by the promotion of sport values;
Step 3 – International Co-operation; Specific Objective: Making of a European Sports network; signature of a sport agreement during the final meeting and dissemination of findings and promotion of results on social networks and you tube platform. |
